Use FileMaker WebDirect

How to connect to Music Monitor using a web browser

Overview

FileMaker gives various options for connecting to your file. WebDirect is a web version of the database system, so you don't need to install any software on your computer.

Music Monitor is tested and supported for all the functions that music teachers require to be available through WebDirect.

Music administrators should not connect via WebDirect. Some admin functions are not available at all from this view, some buttons are not accessible, and some admin processes do not work properly in this view.

Settings

In order to use WebDirect for access to your Music Monitor file, your organisation must have external access enabled.

How to Use WebDirect

  • Contact your music administrator or IT department for the web address to use for access to Music Monitor.

  • Go to that web address and log in with the username and password set by the music administrator or your IT department.

Once logged in, you will see the Home screen.

Just select the icon you need. The buttons on this screen work the same as if you were using the FileMaker software.

Supported browsers are Safari, Chrome, and Edge. Other browsers may also work, but WebDirect is not necessarily tested on them, so some bugs or glitches may exist.

For guidance on all the things you can do once logged in, see Teachers - Basic Overview.
