Custom File

How you can create custom datasets for yourself in Music Monitor

Overview

Your Music Monitor database has a Custom file. This file is not over-written when your Music Monitor system is updated, so you can use it to store reports that are laborious to recreate.

If you have a custom script, you will already have this module enabled. For most users it is not visible but if you wish to use it we can enable it and make it ready for your intended uses.

Setup

You need the Music Monitor team to enable this module for you, and to create relationships between your Custom file and any other files you wish to draw data from. Some schools may already have the module enabled for an existing custom script, but may still need some setup work to prepare it for new uses.

The time taken for us to do this comes from your Success Package balance. You can request this as an on-demand service, billed on completion, but the hourly rate is lower if you purchase a package in advance. See our Success Packages page for more information.

Possibilities

Your Custom file is where we will store any custom scripts that we build just for you. Features that we deem potentially useful for others will be added to the main system, but something that is very niche to your circumstances will be a customisation and live in your Custom file.

If you wish to set up custom export views, ask us to ensure the tables you wish to report on are set up with relationships to your Custom file. Then you can create a view that has exactly the fields and column order you choose, exactly as you can in the Super Users view, but without losing your changes with each Music Monitor update.
