Manage Assessment Reports

How the Student Assessment Reports module works

Updated over a month ago

Music Monitor has a module where you can set up student assessment reports and your teaching staff can complete the reports about the students' progress.

The process for using this module is as follows.

Choose a Report Type

Your choice of Report Type determines the overall layout of the report and number and style of the questions (that is, whether they're marked out of 5, text answers, etc.)

It's usual to use the same Report Type for all your reports, but it's possible to use more if you choose.

For guidance on this, see Choose a Report Type.

Set Up Assessment Report Templates

Once you have chosen the Report Type you wish to use, you need to create a Template from that design, and then replicate it for each Subject and Ensemble that will require a report.

This is where you choose in detail all the content that will appear in your Reports.

For guidance on this, see Set Up Assessment Report Templates.

Generate a Report Session

At the end of a term or semester, when you want Student Assessment Reports to be completed, you generate a set of blank reports from your Templates. This is a quick, scripted process that takes all your current tuition enrolments and creates a report for the teacher to complete. It also offers to bring in your Ensemble enrolments, which you can accept or decline - and in more recent versions you can choose to bring in a subset of your Ensemble enrolments.

For guidance on this, see Generate New Report Session.

Teachers Complete the Reports

Once the reports have been generated, teachers with access to Music Monitor can complete them in the app.

Feedback Module

Note that there is also a simpler option for teachers to send a short feedback note to parents about a student's progress. This can be helpful for those using Student Assessment Reports as well as those who are not.
