Overview
Music Monitor is a set of files built on the platform of Claris FileMaker. To use Music Monitor, you need to have FileMaker installed, and connect it to your Music Monitor files. Or, if your school has enabled it, you can connect via a web browser.
This article is an overview of the process with links to more detailed articles on different installation options.
Option 1: Install FileMaker on a Computer
Claris FileMaker Pro is available for Mac and Windows. You need to download and install the software, and then connect it to your Music Monitor file. There is a separate article each of the two steps.
Option 2: Install FileMaker on an iPhone or iPad
Claris makes an app called FileMaker Go for iOS devices. Music Monitor is supported for teaching staff to connect via this app. It is not suitable for use for admin staff functions.
Connecting the app to Music Monitor is part of the article on installing the app.
Option 3: Connect via a Web Browser
Claris has developed an option called FileMaker WebDirect. If your IT team enables this option for your school, you can connect with only a web browser, from any device that runs a suitable browser. No installation is required.
This is suitable for teaching staff but not for admin staff functions.
