Overview
The Attendance Codes table is used to configure the available attendance marks for roll marking. These codes are fully customisable and the settings are important as they have re-percussions for some other Music Monitor modules.
You can navigate to it from Home > Setup Files > Attendance Codes
Set Up The Codes
*New in 2026!* From version 10.002 onward, this table has been redesigned. The information below applies to all versions unless it specifies the latest versions.
The fields and their uses are as follows:
Code: The abbreviated mark used on the rolls. This must be unique.
Description: Clarifying text that appears next to the mark in drop-down lists.
Sort Order: *New in 2026!* From version 10.003 onward, the codes will appear as drop-down options on the roll in the order you specify here.
Code Type: Those marked as Tuition will be available when marking the tuition rolls. Those marked as Ensemble will be available when marking the ensemble rolls. To make them available on both, you will need to set up two codes.
From version 10.002 onward, the table automatically separates the two code types into different sections, as shown in the screenshot above.
Comment Required?: If ticked, this forces the user to add a comment when the mark is selected.
Absentee Letter?: When this is ticked, marking an attendance record with this code will cause an absentee letter to be generated. You will still have to send the letter in another process.
Attendance Count: Used in some reports for the number of lessons delivered.
Billing Count: The number of lessons for billing purposes (used by Music Monitor for lesson adjustments and billing in arrears).
Staff Pay Count: The number of lessons for pay purposes (used by Music Monitor in the non-averaged salaries module).
Point Value: From version 10.002 onward, Ensemble Attendance codes have a Point Value separate from the Attendance Count. The Attendance Count is used in integration with a system that only records presence or absence, leaving the Point Value available for administrative purposes, such as recording a fractional value for late arrival, or allowing for an excused absence that records no attendance but does not punish the student in their points tally.
