Access Token Could Not Be Generated Successfully

What does this error message mean when trying to send email?

Background

The setup required in order to use OAuth 2.0 with Microsoft includes a Client Secret value. See Enable Email via OAuth for details.

If that value changes, you need to change it in your Music Monitor setup.

Error Message

If the Client Secret value in your Microsoft Azure setup expires or changes, attempts to send email via OAuth 2.0 will trigger an error message that says:

Access token could not be generated successfully. 
Error from OAuth 2.0 provider:
Error Code: invalid_client
Error Message: AADSTS7000215: Invalid client secret provided. Ensure the secret being sent in the request is the client secret value, not the client secret ID...

The Solution

Your IT department needs to provide the current Client Secret value and you need to enter it in the OAuth setup area in Music Monitor.

Go to Home > Settings wheel > System Admin

Select OAuth 2.0 (Microsoft)

Enter the new Client Secret Value
