Overview
We set up your school details with you at the very beginning of your Music Monitor installation to reflect how you intend to work at that time. If something changes later - perhaps just that you decide to start using additional modules - you may need to edit these details, so this article is here to help you find all the settings you need. Many settings are found in the General Settings area, but others are found in the file they relate to.
Basic School Settings
Here is a breakdown of the basic school settings in Music Monitor, where to find them and how to edit them.
Setup Category
Go to Common Tasks > Setup. You can navigate to a lot of different settings from there.
School Name and Logo
Common Tasks > Setup > Set up or edit school details
To edit the School Name, simply overwrite the existing text with the new name.
To edit the School Logo, select the current image (or blank space) and navigate to the new image on your computer.
Recommended image size is approx. 300 x 300, but the system will accept much larger images if you upload them.
Large images will be shrunk for use. Small images will not generally be expanded.
When Music Monitor changes the size of your image, it maintains the proportions.
PNG, JPG, and GIF accepted. (GIFs only display one frame, not animations.)
General Settings
Go to Home > Settings > General Settings.
The specific settings listed in this section are all found on that General Settings screen.
Attendance Settings
If you are making some changes in how you use the Attendance module you will need to change your Attendance Settings.
If you previously did not mark ensemble attendance but you now will, you probably want to enable to setting to provide a link in the Staff Roll to open the Ensemble Roll.
You can also adjust how many days your teachers have after the start of the week before their rolls are locked against editing (and can no longer be marked).
*New in 2026!* From version 10.004 onward, you can select whether to use the new Ensemble Rolls screen.
See Attendance Settings for guidance.

Teacher Settings
If you wish to enable or disable teachers' access to some of their possible functions, you set those permissions here.

SMS Gateway Details
There are two options for how to navigate to editing your SMS gateway details:
Common Tasks > Setup > Set up or edit SMS gateway details
Home > Settings > General Settings > Organisation
See Email from Music Monitor for an explanation of how this setup works.
You can see that this setting is also the place where you enter the Default Term and Default Year.

The following General Settings each have only one item to set.
